Kanske inte riktigt än... men det är inte långtifrån den känsla som infann sig när jag idag öppnade brevet som innehöll mitt sista(?) designuppdrag.


Det här är alltså novemberkitet från Jommas. Jag hoppas verkligen att just DU beställt DITT eget. För det här vill DU inte missa... :)

Aiming for new adventures

It is difficult not to be inspired by Sassafras nature inspired papers. They scream adventure.


It's forest and things and a little guy who really loves his new toy - a binocular. You can see things closer, larger and better with such a toy.


There are clouds from Jommas September kit. I also draw and cut out two extra clouds from our Latvian freezer manual. :) Bam Pops lovely prank characters cheers up.

Experience nature

Jommas September kit contained a lot of fresh scrapgoodies from SassaFras and some really nice findings. I really liked the SassaFras paper with clouds filled with mushrooms and bugs. I just had to go over it with a scissor as soon as it landed in my mailbox.

I have an unwritten rule which tells me to always start with the photo. There is however no rule without any exception. The photo was the last thing I picked out for this layout. It was just better to start building a landscape with the clouds, the mushrooms, the bugs and that great punched paper.


I have started to build up every layout on a transparency. The transparency stayed for this layout. I wanted to be able to see through the holes in the punched paper.


My photo is from this spring. It works there, but the papers are perhaps more suitable for autumn photos and stories...

Clouds, mushrooms and caterpillars

My mailman delivered the september kit from Jommas on Tuesday this week. It contains a lot of SassaFras news in terms of - for instance - clouds, mushrooms and caterpillars. It also contains some real nice findigs or ephemera. This kit contains a combination which is perfect for scrapping all those nature inspired autumn photos. In doubt? Take a look for yourself.

"1 Lily" with that glitter overlay

I promised to get back with my solution or use of that large glitter overlay from the large july kit from Jommas. It's that glitter thing from Fancy Pants that you see in the upper left corner in that picture. My solution for that glitter overlay is "1 Lily".


I thought that glitter overlay was very difficult to fit in on a page as it was. In cooperation with my mother, I simply decided to cut it. In three parts. That the bytterfly should be it's own was my mothers brilliant suggestion. The theme for this page is one of all those flowers which are present in our garden. A flower which matched the patterned papers in this kit plus that cut glitter overlay. I added some scraps of other papers to achieve some more life and also even more matching with the photo.

123 drive

For this page made of material from the large July kit from Jommas, I departed from things I usually do. I refused to use my "rule" of building on the colors in the photo. The patterned papers used here have so much color and pattern that I thought it was ok to do so. :)


"12" in the title comes from the orange paper. It's a small scrap that acts as the base for the whole title. "3 drive" are letter stickers where I filled in the contours with a cerise almost luminous color. I used the crown stamp to create the subtitle "Now, we are having royal fun in Östersund".


The photo has an overlay. It's a piece of that large 12x12" overlay which I cut before. Two edges already had black color, the other two are handpainted by me. The base for this page is the pasteboard Bodil packed the kit in. It's torn and painted over with blue acrylics in a nuance that matches two of the patterned papers. I skipped chalking the edges for this page since the papers anyway stands out from that painted corrugated background. You may also note that I used the remainder from the felt figures (the robot and the snail) to make a happy face with a curl.

Last, I just want to say that there are no specific boy or girl colors in my world and I hope it's like that in your world too. :)

Sweet dreams little prince

Created with the large July kit from Jommas. Rubons combined with letter stickers and a crown stamp make up the title "Sweet dreams little Prince". And... that's just what he has there on that photo. How you can have sweet dreams when you fall asleep when you are sitting on the kitchen chair...


This page reminds me that he is a very alert prince. One that never wants to sleep since he can miss out on things in life. A prince which sometimes happens to fall asleep just about anywhere and that is regardless whether the light is on or off. The kawaii jounaling note with it's koala climbing up and down the lamp cord is perfect for this theme.

Oh boy

Dream big. Dream big. Dream {a little dream}.

Jommas large kit for July contained an overlay in the size of 12"*12". Since I scrap in the size of A4 I had to invent some kind of solution. I simply cut the overlay to the width of A4 and kept the lenght as it was, that is to say 12" which is some milimeters more than an A4. I then grabbed a brush and painted the cut side of the overlay with black. I did this on the back so I would achieve an as similar look as the rest of the overlay. I then put a rubon over that painted edge - on the front. The result is an overlay which fits for a layout in A4 size.

The rest of the page is sparsley decorated with some felt decorations, more rubons, alphabet stickers and a number of cut out circles from one of the matching patterned paper. To finish this page, I took, from my own stash, a piece of white paper which I run through a paper wrinkler and two brads.

Time for tire change

It's a lot of things going on here. The brown patterned paper with all the stars and pattern seemed, in advance, difficult to divide. But that was no problem when I got it in my hand. :)


This page talks for it self so look and see how you can build up a landscape with help of paper (including the pre-perforated paper), felt decorations, alphabet stickers and some more. This landscape or scenario is connected to the photo where we are waiting for change of tires from winter ones to summer ditos. I usually do this myself, but this spring I outsourced that work. :)

All material on this page except the yellow/orange stamped letters, the pom pom fringe and the small car related stamps are from the large july kit from Jommas. And... did you notice little him and me inside the orange felt car? Yes, I just saw that is looked like two heads when I placed down the car there....

Thank You card

It's not that often I do cards. Bodil asked me to do one for this time around designing her fabolous monthly kits. Every kit is of course perfect for making cards too. I made an example in form of a thank you card with means of a felt frame, the green (and blue) patterned paper and rubons from the large kit for July.


The design or look of this card is not typical me, but starting from that felt frame made the rest obvious. That the clouds should stick out from the frame and that they also should be adhered with wrinkles are things that make things a bit more fun or at least interesting to look at.

Yes. They arrived today. That is july's kits. I am about to design the large one - Little Prince - for Jommas this month. I feel that I definitely have to put on my fancy pants, act royal and start to create... ;) Just look at these goodies...

All time favourites

The fifth thing to scrap about for We Dare You was a favourite thing. One thing that we really like. I couldn't figure out one single favourite artefact so I interpreted the challenge and scrapped about my all time favourites - in music. The list is on the altered and kawaii thing which is hidden behind the photo.

I used three Holtz tickets and one transparent red button from the second We Dare You kit. I forgot to add a green bling stone to represent Kryptonite... but that's life. :) A lot of the other stuff on this page (Piggy Tales and Bam Pop) are available from Jommas. The black between the patterned papers is actually a new favourite - huge ric rac. maxell is something that I have kept for years and years now. It's a part of the plastic wrap around some old maxell... was it VHS-tapes or was it even ordinary cassette tapes?

After finally finishing this page I ask myself one question. Why the hell am I so stubborn to that I do pages like this? Too much time. But... it's incredible fun to make 'em...

Designing with Jommas small May kit

Mommy fly with me

Mini-piles of Ephemera must be among the best things that have happened to scrapping. Have we seen so many wonderful and more or less unique things to decorate your pages with? Five random decorations from such a mini-pile was included in Jommas small May kit. I received a nostalgic bubble sticker of an airplane and tickets with perfect color matching to the patterned papers. These decorations directly gave the theme for this page and I started my hunt for that “old” photo of him when he is flying for the first time in his life. He is not even three months old when I put him in a cabin seat to take him to a warmer climate.


Rather recently he asked me if we could fly. I answered him that we had already done that. Several times. He has a good memory and a sense for details, but he was probably too young to remember these flights. So. For that reason I have now promised him that one day will his wish "mommy fly with me" once again come through.

Decorations from the kit are airplane bubble sticker, ticket, self-adhesive bling wing (Prima) and bird brad (Prima). All other things are from my stash or exclusively made for this page. And look how good the paper from Prima matches the one from Hambly…. and also the map. :)

Frost

Isn’t it warm or even hot outside at this time of the year? Sometimes it’s almost too hot. Far away are sunny winterdays when the snow is crunching under your shoes and the frost is sparkling wherever you turn your head. Yet… it is perhaps what I am missing at the moment. Those cold amazing days of the year. And since I received a flower diecut with Jommas small May kit means that this page was made by itself.


There are clear similarities between the flowers on the diecut and those frosty flowers on the picture. I covered the flower diecut with speciality glaze pearl and glitter, poured white glitter over the letters and added glitter glue on the blue parts of the patterned paper in order to bring about a really frosty feeling. The felt ribbon is suitable since it gives a warm feeling at the same time as the photo is from out garden. I also note that I made double photo mats. I who usually uses no photo mat at all…
